Meet Dr. Pool
Russell Pool, D.M.D.
I
am a native Idahoan, raised in Montpelier, Bear Lake County. I completed my B.S.
in Zoology at Idaho State University. My dental education continued when I was
accepted to Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri and obtained my Doctor
of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) degree, with the help of my wife, Sylvia, who is my
partner in life. I decided to serve our country as a Dental Officer in the USAF
and we were sent to the Island of Guam. We also served at Mountain Home AFB for
a year in the prosthetic department. We desired to be a part of a community and
to have a stable family life and educational environment for our children. We
came to Nampa after I resigned my Air Force commission when the opportunity
presented itself to take over a fairly new dental practice. We feel that our
community has truly enriched our lives.
Philosophy of Practice: I know that each
person has thoughts and concerns about his or her dental health and perceives
their dental experience in many varied ways and attitudes. My desire is to help
each patient to have a good experience, especially if there is pain, infection
or anxiety. Decay and gum deterioration are a disease of an infectious nature
and I want to help you control further deterioration of your dental health. I
offer a full range of services, preventative, periodontal and restorative to
help you reach and maintain optimum dental health.
Our Family: I married my sweetheart, Sylvia,
in 1969. We have four children and eleven grandchildren. Upon moving to Nampa,
Sylvia and I immediately took the opportunity to join the Majors and Minors
community singing group, of which we have been a part for over 20 years. I have
been active in scouting and working with youth groups.
